Our Story

Chrismaria Indian Family Restaurant was founded with a simple idea – to bring the warmth, flavour, and comfort of real Indian home-cooking to families across Nova Scotia. Since opening our doors on January 4, 2019, our mission has been to serve dishes that feel familiar, honest, and made with care.

At Chrismaria, we prepare every meal using traditional spices, fresh ingredients, and recipes that celebrate the diverse tastes of India. From everyday favourites to festive specials, we want every plate to remind you of a meal shared with family.

More than a restaurant, Chrismaria is a place where people come together — to enjoy good food, good company, and good moments. Whether you’re dining in, taking out, or ordering for a family gathering, we are here to make your experience warm and memorable.

"Food is not just about nourishment; it's about sharing traditions and creating lasting memories together."

Our Mission

Our mission is to honour the essence of Indian cuisine by preparing meals rooted in tradition and served with genuine hospitality. Through fresh ingredients, authentic flavours, and a welcoming atmosphere, we aim to create memorable dining experiences for every family we serve.

Our Values

Our vision is to be Nova Scotia’s most welcoming destination for authentic Indian family dining. We aim to create a place where families, friends, and communities come together to enjoy honest, flavour-rich meals that feel familiar, comforting, and made with heart.

We want Chrismaria to stand for warmth, a restaurant where good food, good service, and good moments are shared every day.

1. Authenticity

We stay true to the flavours, traditions, and ingredients that define Indian home cooking.

2. Freshness

Every dish is prepared with care using fresh ingredients and carefully selected spices.

3. Family & Community

We believe great food brings people together — every family that visits Chrismaria feels like part of ours.

4. Consistency

Whether you dine in, take out, or order online, we ensure the same quality and warmth in every meal.

5. Hospitality

Kind service is at the heart of what we do. We welcome every guest with respect, warmth, and gratitude.

Community Involvement

At Chrismaria Indian Family Restaurant, we believe that food has the power to bring people together, and we are proud to be part of the communities we serve. Our commitment goes beyond the kitchen, we actively support and participate in local events, cultural programs, and initiatives that strengthen the spirit of togetherness.

Over the years, we have contributed to school and church fundraisers, partnered with community groups, and taken part in neighbourhood celebrations. Whether it’s providing meals for local gatherings or lending a hand at charity drives, we are grateful for every opportunity to give back.

Chrismaria is more than a place to eat — it is a part of the community. We look forward to continuing to share great food, warm hospitality, and meaningful connections with the people around us.

Came for lunch on a Friday with a table of 4 and the food was excellent! The portions are generous, and we were happy to eat every last bite. It took about 30min for our order to come up, and it was well worth the wait! The pakora were the biggest I’ve ever seen! We’ll definitely be coming back in the future. Highly recommended!

Had a first time dine in and it was amazing. A must stop restaurant when you visit the valley. Food was really delicious with perfect blend of spices. Tried beef fry, chicken biryani, mutton biryani, chemmeen mango curry schezuan fried rice and naan, everything was finger licking good. Service was great.
Would definitely recommend.
